About Us

We're an activist-run digital services collective.

We are a group of progressive corporate workers who want to share their skills with the world, particularly those who need it most. We work from an ethical, mutually responsive, and anti-capitalist lens, and we view all labor as skilled labor. Sliding scale costs are provided for all of our services, and all of our members split the proceeds evenly: hence our existence as a collective rather than a corporation.

Our Story

As humans rooted in our values, we don't sacrifice our ideologies, methods, or practices for anything. Not even funding. It's the philosophy rooted into the very creation of Making Biscuits. Many folks in our collective are working on projects as an add-on to their current full-time day job.

"They say technology drives change, but change can be both positive and negative. Positive change in a status-quo world is resistance. To create positive change requires sacrificing comfort: a sacrifice many in the tech industry will never be willing to take."

Our "Biscuits"

In the digital world, cookies have become synonymous with tracking, data collection, and capitalist market manipulation. They leave a trail, gathering information about people, and manipulating the information on our screens for their own benefit.

We're redefining pastries in the tech world with the term "biscuit" – a warm, comforting alternative to the cold, impersonal cookie. Our approach is about providing essential support and functionality, but with a focus on ethical practices and respect for your privacy: even if it doesn't get us the most $$$ in return.
